Steve Talks to Teachers
Steve presented at the Nebraska State Reading Conference
in Kearney, NB, on Feb. 27 - 28. He gave the luncheon
speech where everyone clapped, except one teacher
who was finishing her pie. Steve liked Nebraska, especially
the flat prairies with Canada geese and sand hill
cranes overhead.
Steve flew to San Antonio, TX, for the Texas Library
Association conference on March 17 - 20. On March
16, it snowed 8 inches in Vermont, so he was very
happy to fly to Texas where the temperature was 84
degrees. Steve likes being a children's book author.
Steve presented a program called "From Blank
Page to Book" at the Young Author's Conference
in Birmingham, AL, on April 24. He inspired these
young authors from Alabama with tales of wealth and
travel and fame.
Steve was the guest poet at the Poetry Safari at
New York City's Bronx Zoo on April 25. Steve read
some animal poems; played his Ashiko African drum
and got out of the way of the zoo elephants.
